The 760 308 MP from ROHM is a Version 1.0, wireless power design kit for medium power. It enables fast evaluation and prototyping of ROHM wireless charging ICs and WE coils. This Kit demonstrates the advantages of wireless power and gives developers opportunity to test and integrate a wireless power solution into their application. The RX and TX are backwards compatible with low power mode (Baseline Power Profile). WPC's Qi standard for medium power has attracted attention as a next-generation standard for inductive power transmission that will enable wireless charging of tablet PCs while allowing smartphones and other mobile devices to be charged up to three times faster than the existing low power standard (5W). An advanced Foreign Object Detection (FOD) function is included to provide improved safety by detecting foreign metallic right before the power transfer has started to ensure the safety of sensitive electronics and to avoid overheating of foreign metallic objects.
